Book Club in a Bag: Home

Amarillo Public Library’s Book Club in a Bag service makes hosting your own book club easy and enjoyable. With just your library card, you can borrow a kit with everything needed for your group to have great discussions about popular books. All you need to do is gather some friends and pick a place to meet.

You can find available titles by visiting the circulation desk at any of the library’s five branches or by searching for “bookclub” in the library’s online catalog. Each library location also has information at the circulation desk that will let you explore the full list of Book Club in a Bag options. Once you choose a book, one member of your club checks out the kit and then passes out the books to everyone in the group.

Each Book Club in a Bag kit includes:

• Ten copies of the selected book
• A resource folder with:
  • A sign-out sheet to keep track of book copies
  • Practical tips for organizing your book club
  • Discussion questions about the book
  • An author biography for extra background
  • A feedback card so your group can share thoughts or suggestions

Certain special kits also come with additional resources like ten study guides and a DVD to add even more to your book club discussions.

When your group is finished reading and discussing the book, simply return the entire kit to the circulation desk at any Amarillo Public Library branch. This easy-to-use service is designed to help your book club run smoothly, allowing you to focus on enjoying the experience.
